Christian Education

Overview

Our Christian Education program combines a variety of learning and recreational opportunities for youth of all ages. We offer programs tailored to individual age groups as well as opportunities for our younger youth to interact with our junior high and high schoolers. Please read below for more information about our youth programs.

Youth Programs

Sunday School and childcare

Sunday School is provided to all elementary and early middle school children. Following the Children’s Sermon, kids are invited to head to Sunday School for the remainder of the service. All of our Sunday School teachers, working in pairs, have been background-checked and certified to work with our youth. Our childcare provider is a certified professional who specializes in working with infants and toddlers.

Wednesdays at First (WAF)

The WAF program is an opportunity for our elementary and early middle school children to get together each Wednesday and learn about the Bible, play games, and engage in other fun activities. Usually the kids meet for dinner first and then break into their activities. Please contact the main office for information about the WAF schedule: (989) 793-9890.

Junior High and High School Youth

Our junior high and high school youth meet twice a month with Pastor Ted and other adult leaders to study and enjoy fellowship. Meeting times are usually Wednesday nights but can vary, so please contact the main office to confirm: (989) 793-9890. Fun field trips are often planned throughout the year as well.

Youth Musicals

This year, our youth program is trying something new and exciting. Our kids will present a 20 minute musical as part of our 5:30 pm Christmas Eve service. There is something for youth of all ages and ability levels to do as they share in the telling of Jesus’ birth through song and story. For more info, contact our Music Director, Collin Whitfield at collin.whitfield@gmail.com.
